Seven Second Scribble

How to play

The whole game in four lines

  1. You'll see a word.
  2. You'll have 7 seconds to draw it.
  3. Later, we'll show your drawing back to you without the word.
  4. Guess what on earth you meant.

Round lengths

  • 20 · Quick Game
  • 25 · Classic
  • 30 · Challenge
  • 50 · Poor Decision (with slightly harder words)

The rules

  • No pausing. Switching tabs won't stop the clock.
  • No undo, no eraser, no colours. You get one pen.
  • No writing the answer. That's cheating. And boring.
  • No second chances. Once you submit a guess, it's final.

Guessing

After the drawing round, your masterpieces come back in a shuffled order with the original words hidden.

Type what you think you were trying to draw, or hit No idea and move on.

Spelling is forgiven within reason, and common synonyms count. A letterbox can be a mailbox, a bike can be a bicycle, and a telly can be a television.

Words never repeat (until they do)

You'll work through the entire word pool before anything starts repeating.

That means thousands of words, no repeats, and plenty of opportunities to forget what your own scribbles were supposed to be.

Once the pool finally runs dry, we start a fresh cycle while avoiding the words you've seen most recently.
